How to get the Falcon Wings in Diablo 3?

Searched everywhere in all the Acts of Diablo 3 and wondering if the "Falcon Wings" cosmetic is still available in the latest patch? Fret not, being a laggard like me in the vanity item collection, it is still possible to get one!

Newly acquired falcon wings on Witch Doctor
My newly acquired Falcon Wings

I just got mine in the latest patch - 2.4.3 (season 9) - and I can therefore safely proclaim that it is still available.

To get it, you will have to go to Act IV: Garden of Hope Tier 1 and it might not be an easy trial. In fact, I took around 2 hours using my Witch Doctor to get one - thank God for Fierce Loyalty which allowed me to comb the map so quickly each run. I suggest you guys use your speed run skills to do this scouring as well such as having Teleport on your Wizard or Steed Charge on Crusader if not you will definitely lose patience after awhile. You can also consider trying out the Berserker Barb which I did circled around IK set and Blade of the Warlord!

While combing the map, look out for Mysterious Chest, its a treasure chest that looks like any normal ones but with the text as Mysterious Chest. It should look something like that:

Act IV Diablo 3 mysterious chest

To not miss it, just open every chest along the way. Don't be like me, I almost missed mine because I gave up hope since I had already opened two chests before that. This means that there can be more than ONE chest in each run, and it is possible that one of it is a Mysterious Chest, indicating a Falcon Wings within.

Here's how my map looked like and the red circle is where I found this Mysterious Chest:

Act IV Garden of Hope Tier 1 map which I found my falcon wings on

Someone did us a favour by having a dropbox which includes all the possible/realised mysterious chest location - thanks Hurric4n from DiabloFans for that!

All in all, finding this chest is utterly up to your luck - some took a few hours like me, but I have heard of people finding it immediately after one try, so don't lose heart just after one try! You will definitely adore it more if you find it after plenty, just like me.

Happy Diablo-ing.

Diablo 3 Zunimassa + Arachyr Build: The True Pet Doctor

This is how an awesome witch doctor should look like, having the fetishes offering its life to protect the WD.
Source: https://nl.pinterest.com/pin/494833077778932495/
Amidst all the new patches for Witch Doctors' items, we seemed to forget the reason many went to Witch Doctors as a class when Diablo first came out - the ability to have its minions following it around serving as both shields and swords at the same time. Which build now can boast of having a full blown army of fetishes blowing fires and darts at the mobs, damage dog sponges, coupled with 3 huge-ass Gargantuan following you around you while you clear the rifts? With this yearning in mind, I present to you the True Pet Doctor's build which involves the 6-piece set bonus from Zunimassa's Haunt, and the 4-piece set bonus of Spirit of Arachyr.

As per always, here is a short prelude to the set that you'd be reading:

Giant toad and spider, hexing fetish, tons of pets just simply destroying everything like true piranhas in the Amazons, and you standing there flowing with spirits. Sounds good?

My Pet Doctor's build looks something like this:

Zunimassa + Arachyr Build: The True Pet Doctor Item build
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/nicomatata-6452/hero/65432033

As you can already tell, I am using 2 different sets for this particular build: Zunimassa's Haunt and Spirit of Arachyr. The 6-piece set bonus for Zunimassa's Haunt is so that we are able to fully let our pets be the main damage dealer - 1500% dmg from pets to enemies hit by your mana spender - and to let your fetishes be the best meat shields you can ask for - fetishes last FOREVER and 3% increased resistance for each fetish. 4-piece set bonus for Spirit of Arachyr allows you to have a random 4000% damage Spider Queen and also increases your survivability when you cast Hex, add an extra toad to your pet army.

In case you didn't realise it, the set items here can be mixed and matched around depending on the which ones do you have as long as you are able to hit the required 6-piece set bonus for Zunimassa's Haunt and 4-piece set bonus for Spirit of Arachyr. For example, you have a Zunimassa's Vision and a Arachyr's Visage, both can be utilised as the "Head" in this build and you simply choose the one with the better stat.

Head: Zunimassa's Vision / Arachyr's Visage+Int; +Crit Chance; +Socket; +Vit

Torso: Zunimassa's Marrow / Arachyr's Carapace+Int; +All Resist; +Sockets; +Vit

Waist: Belt of Transcendence; with this item, you'd be able to ensure that you have the maximum number of fetishes at any one time, the more the fetishes, the more your resistance! Since your pets are your main damage dealer, more fetishes also mean more DPS! ; +Int, +All Resist, +Vit, +% life

Legs: Zunimassa's Cloth / Arachyr's Legs+Int, +All Resist, +% Skills (pets / Spirit Barrage), +Socket

Feet: Zunimassa's Trail / Arachyr's Stride+Int, +All Resist, +Vit, +Armour / % Spirit Barrage

Shoulders: Arachyr's Mantle+Int, +All Resist, +Vit, +% life / Cooldown Reduction

Hands: Zunimassa's Finger Wraps / Arachyr's Claws; ; +Int, +Crit Dmg, +Crit Chance, +Attack Speed

Neck: Hellfire Amulet which gives a one of the alternative passive skills shown in the skills section below, in my case was Rush of Essence+Int +Crit Dmg, +Crit Chance, +Socket

Wrist: Nemesis Bracers; I have not found a good one for this slot yet but having this would allow you to clear rifts faster since you can get more elites. Alternatively, you can also use Lacuni Prowlers like what I am doing now for more damage since they automatically provides you with increased attack speed, the additional boost for movement speed also means you can allocate more of your paragon points to intelligence; +Int, +Crit Chance, +All Resist

Ring (1): Zunimassa's Pox+Int, +Crit Dmg, +Crit Chance, +Socket

Ring (2): The Short Man's Finger; I chose this because Gargantuan's damage just becomes crazy with this thing on, you may opt for other rings such as Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac for quicker cool down of Hex and Spirit Walk or Unity to play it safer, entirely up to your preferences; +Int, +Crit Dmg, +Crit Chance, +Socket

Weapon: Voo's Juicer; this item has been underrated throughout its entire debut, but in this build the 2 additional runes for the Spirit Barrage skill just grants you with impeccable survivability - from the life steal - and constantly ensuring that a vast amount of mobs get hit by a mana spender to proc the 1500% increase in pet damage; +Int, +% dmg, +Socket, +Cooldown Reduction

Mojo: Zunimassa's String of Skulls; ; +Int, +Crit Dmg, +Cooldown Reduction, +Dmg, +Socket

Kanai's Cube:

Kanai's cube for the true pet doctor

Weapon: Gazing Demise; I know a lot of people would be disagreeable with this but you are really just focusing on casting as much damage in the area as possible with your pets, having Phantasm circling around for ~750% dmg definitely helps to a certain extent; alternatively one can also go for Starmetal Kukri granting you an almost permanent Big Bad Voodoo = more damage output from your pets

Armour: Mask of Jeram; double your main damage output DPS, just do it

Jewellery: Ring of Royal Grandeur; allow you to have 1 piece less for set bonus which is why you can have the best of both worlds!

Legendary Gems:

  1. Enforcer; because you are a pet doctor, and this gem grants you increased damage % for you pets, simple as.

  2. Esoteric Alteration; you'd need as much resistance as you can get so as to fully utilise the 60% you get from the Spirit of Arachyr 4-pc set bonus

  3. Bane of the Stricken; with the amount of hits you are making to any enemies with your Spirit Barrage and pets, you can easily double up your damage with this legendary gem. You can also consider getting Bane of the Powerful if you feel like you prefer the damage boost from the abundance of elites, especially if you have Nemesis Bracers equipped

Skills:

Active Skills:

  1. Spirit Barrage with Well of Souls rune, you'd practically have almost all the runes for this skill if you follow the item and Kanai's guide above. Either way, this combination would grant you the highest chance to inflict as many opponent as you can with you mana spender so that you are able to get your 1500% damage from your pets!

  2. Piranhas with Piranhado rune, mobs hit by this skill will take 15% increased damage, and with Piranhado rune, you can consolidate all mobs into the same area and immobilise them for a short period of time allowing you have better crowd control. Another alternative for this skill slot would be Big Bad Voodoo but the long cool down means you will need to have Starmetal Kukri to make it feasible. You can put it in your Kanai's and sacrifice the increased damage from your Gazing Demise if that is your preference

  3. Gargantuan with Restless Giant rune, this is by far the highest damage output rune I have seen other than Wrathful Protector. The fact the Wrathful Protector requires a cool down and Gargantuans which are not permanent just sounds dangerous to me, but if you are capable of it, please go ahead to try it and let me know! Humongoid rune is also feasible due to its consistency and area damage so its entirely up to the player's preferences

  4. Fetish Army with Fetish Ambush rune, again greatest damage output out of all the runes and by forcing your fetishes to be only melee, they will help serve as better meat shields than having some ranged ones EDIT: As pointed out in this thread although seemingly outdated, the Fetish Ambush rune might not be considered a form of "pet damage" and hence will not be buffed by the Zuni 6P bonus, I had to test-run it several rounds to notice as well since your fetishes are mainly there to serve as meat shields with your Gargs and SB as your main damage. As such, I would recommend using Legion of Daggers rune since it pumps another 3 more fetishes out (3*3% more resistance) for greater survivability as well as slightly more hits for damage output.

  5. Summon Zombie Dogs with Life Link rune, to get more damage mitigation. You can also go for Leeching Beasts rune if you are a fonder supporter of Life on Hit and have enough damage mitigation to prevent one-hit from higher torments!

  6. Hex with Jinx rune, I can't stress on how important this skill is in this build, it grants you 60% resistance, immobilises opponent for 12 secs and amplifies damage on mobs!

Passive Skills:

  1. Pierce the Veil; increases your damage out SIGNIFICANTLY. Yes, you will bleed mana quicker but with Voo's Juicer, and if possible Rush of Essence included in the passive skill slot via some flexibility with Hellfire Amulet, mana should be the last thing you worry about

  2. Grave Injustice; this is to ensure that you will constantly be able to cast both Hex and Piranhas without fail throughout the entire game. The additional 1% healing for each death also grants you greater survivability

  3. Midnight Feast; the damage increase of 50% to your Gargantuan is the main key to this passive slot. You'd see them mowing down mobs easier and quicker with this passive on

  4. Fierce Loyalty; I LOVE TO RUN FASTER THROUGHOUT THE MAPS, trust me you'd get hooked onto the increased movement speed from this skill and never ever swap it out again

Paragon Points:

Core: +Movement Speed → +Int; always make sure your movement speed is maxed at 25%, suggest to purely use paragon points to add movement speed so you are able to use an additional slot to increase your toughness with your Zunimassa's Trail / Arachyr's Stride.

Offense+Crit Dmg → +Crit Chance → +Cooldown Reduction → +Attk Spd; why not do a reduction in cooldown first? Simple, you really only need cooldown for your Hex to get that 60% boost in resistance and Spirit Walk to escape. However, the cooldown for Hex and the duration of the boosted survivability is the same at 15 sec (just a little dangerous and inconvenient that you have to cut it so close to cast Hex). With Grave Injustice, your cooldown for both of the skills will be pretty much instantaneous as well, thats why I chose to max out the two most important damage counter first before going for convenience.

Defense: +All Resist → +Life → +Armor → +Life Regen; the first is probably quite self intuitive, as for Life or Armor, that again is up to the individual. I personally prefer having more life first since that will allow me to have more meat for soaking up damage. However, some will argue that having armor does the same. Either way, since they are all in the form of '%', it would be wise to see your current stats before deciding. E.g., if your build currently has more Vitality, then adding paragon to 'Life' will grant you a greater increase in toughness and vice versa.

Utility: +Resource Cost Reduction → +Area Damage → +Life on Hit → +Gold; reducing the amount of resources needed to cast your mana spender - Spirit Barrage - will allow you to garner more fetishes quicker and cause more mobs to get the 1500% from your pets! Being able to spam Spirit Barrage will also aid you in clearing the rifts quicker as seen in the video. I figured the life steal wouldn't be that important given the natural life steal from Voo's Juicer, so might as well just increase area damage first.

Gameplay:

I always like builds which are simple to use and effective, so this build is no different:

  1. Activate GargantuanFetish Army, and Summon Zombie Dogs. The minute you see the first mob, regardless of how big the crowd is, activate Hex. This grants you the initial resistance you'd need before you get killed immediately by the mobs, especially in higher torments and rifts.
  2. Focus on getting your fetishes up to the maximum, i.e., 15 fetishes so you are able to garner even more resistance to survive throughout the game.
  3. Each time when you encounter a new crowd, cast Hex followed by Piranhas and stand not more than 20 yards away while blasting your Spirit Barrage. You should have almost no issues clearing mobs that way.
  4. If your pets stray too far away, summon them again so that they will all be able to focus on the same crowd and clear the entire rifts faster!
  5. Make sure that ALL your pets are always up, and Hex immediately when it cools down so that you will not DIE.
Thats all for the build, thanks for reading and do feel free to comment or email me if you have any better suggestions to improve this build further!

Diablo 3 Immortal King Set + Blade of the Warlord: The Frenzy Bash Immortal King

How I would think a Frenzy/Bash Barbarian would look like.
Source: http://coolvibe.com/2014/video-game-art-barbarian/
We have Wizards, Witch Doctors, Demon Hunters, Monks, and the addition of Crusaders in the expansion pack but still, we turn back to the Barbarians when we are seeking a more primitive way to end Diablo's realm. With so many new builds such as Raekor the Immortal build by Rhykker and WW build with Wrath of the Waste by Bluddshed, its no wonder that we are forgetting the most primal way of playing the Barbarian - bashing your way through every damn mob.

I have been focusing so much on these other builds until when I witnessed Sindro's Convention Barb which made me remembered what a "hack and slash" RPG was supposed to be. Pummel and bash through every skulls you find, destroy and wreck those squish...what better way to do that than this Frenzy Bash Immortal King.

Alright, this build might not be enough to hit up the leaderboards as compared to IK/Raekor which has been topping the charts for seasons - or might it?? - but I am sure all of us would want to try the old-school Barbarian for a bit and relive your bashing Barbarian during the Skeleton King's days *with a slight boost*.

Let us start with a short and unprofessional video I made to get you enticed to read on further:

Ok, I died halfway while fighting the boss...BUT LOOK AT HOW AWESOME IT IS. Should have totally added in my own sound effects to the video and it would be like "BAM BAM BAM". A machine gun that fires Bash. That's what this build is all about.

This is what my current build looks like:

Ancient Blade of the Warlord is still not perfect. Oathkeeper is good for now. Immortal King set just own balls.
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/nicomatata-6452/hero/78270816
The set that we will be utilising in this build would be Immortal King set, just because I have always love the Berserker mode for Barbarians. I mean, who can refuse the increased Critical Hit Chance (CHC), movement speed (MS), and attack speed (AS) coupled with an insanely violent looking character.

Head: Immortal King's Triumph+Str; +Crit Chance; +Socket; +Vit

Torso: Immortal King's Eternal Reign; +Str; +All Resist; +Sockets; +Vit

Waist: Immortal King's Tribal Binding; some of you might ask why I don't want to go for The Undisputed Champion instead since its a Frenzy Bash build. Well, you could but I figured you'd need to sacrifice another item, which in my case its my hands, to get my set effect going. Also, the main play of this build is to just use Frenzy to get as much attack speed as possible in order to Bash like a machine gun so I didn't really see the point of having every rune effect; +Str, +All Resist, +Vit, +% life

Legs: Immortal King's Stature; this again can be replaced with Depth Diggers if you do not need that much of a fury generation. In this case, my effect of Depth Diggers is already cubed. Should you want to use Depth Diggers instead of IK's Stature, you can then try to cube Death Watch Mantle and get awesome explosions while bashing; +Str, +All Resist, +% Bash, +Socket

Feet: Immortal King's Stride+Str, +All Resist, +Vit, +% Bash

Shoulders: Fury of the Ancients; why say no to more fury generation, with this you will have more fury to burn for your Bash to hit max damage all the time and also guaranteed a permanent Berserker; +Str, +All Resist, +Vit, +% life

Hands: Tasker and Theo; this has always been the debatable when I discuss this build, why would I want my pet to attack faster over having all the runes for Frenzy?! Simple, having all the runes for Frenzy isn't going to change the gameplay much because well, we are talking about Bash being the main skill here. Having your ancients attack 40-50% faster = more fury = more painful strikes; +Str, +Crit Dmg, +Crit Chance, +Attack Speed

Neck: Quite flexible for this, but I generally recommend amulets that can prevent one entire type of damage which in my case Countess Julia's Cameo prevents arcane damage and heals me accordingly. Alternatively, you can consider using Hellfire Amulet which gives a passive such as Superstition or Tough as Nails. Either way, you will want to reduce as much damage as possible without depressing your damage; +Str / Elemental Dmg, +Crit Dmg, +Crit Chance, +Socket

Wrist: Vambraces of Sescheron; this is a must for this build, having a % of your missing life regenerated when you cast those darn quick primary skills you have, HELL YEAH. It is my main source of survivability; +Str, +Crit Chance, +All Resist, +% Bash / Vit

Ring (1): Focus+Str, +Crit Dmg, +Crit Chance, +Socket

Ring (2): Restraint; think this should be quite self-explanatory since I am playing on softcore, you get a permanent 100% boost to your damage since you will be just Frenzily Bashing away! Alternatively, for more toughness, you can consider going Unity instead. The other ring can either be Convention of Elements so you get the additional fire damage boost when it rolls over, or just hold a Ring of Royal Grandeur and cube an amulet that prevents another elemental damage instead, such as Mara's Kaleidoscope or The Star of Azkaranth+Str, +Crit Dmg, +Crit Chance, +Socket

Weapon (1): Blade of the Warlord; of course, the main weapon for your insane Bash damage, this was what made me want to try this build in the first place; +Str, +% dmg, +Socket, +life per hit/life per fury/Vit

Weapon (2): Oathkeeper; the next must have in this build, the increase in attack damage is decent but the attack speed is what we are really looking for, this will make your bashing even more beastly than ever; +Str, +% dmg, +Socket, +life per hit/life per fury/Vit

Kanai's Cube:

Bastion's Revered gives 10 stacks; Depth Diggers increase primary skills' damage; Ring of Royal Grandeur (RRoG) gives you the flexibility.

Weapon: Bastion's Revered; up from 5 stacks to 10 stacks! More stacks = more boost to attack speed = MORE BASHES!!

ArmourDepth Diggers; well, 100% boost to your primary skills...sure you need to think about that?

JewelleryRing of Royal Grandeur; 1 set item down for increased flexibility in your build!

Legendary Gems:

  1. Simplicity's Strength; higher Bash damage, and 4% health regeneration with each hit of primary skill, come on, I don't have to say too much to convince you.

  2. Bane of the Stricken; definitely a huge boost to your damage output, but I'd suggest using Bane of the Powerful for earlier runs just to enjoy the free 20% damage from the abundance of elites.

  3. Either Gogok of Swiftness for increase attack speed and dodge or Esoteric Alteration for more toughness. I'd say go for Eso in later game and Gogok to farm in earlier rifts.

Skills:

The skills I set for this beast is really quite simple, you really only just have two attacking skills but we all know Bash is the ultimate damage disher. The rest of the skills are mainly to boost your attacks and stay alive:

Frenzy; Bash; Call of the Ancients; Battle Rage; War Cry; Wrath of the Berserker as Active Skills, Ruthless; Rampage; Brawler; Animosity as Passive Skills.

Active Skills:

  1. Frenzy with Maniac rune is selected, this grants you 2.5% increase in your overall damage with each stack and since you have 10 stacks all the time, that makes it a free 25% increase in damage always. Add this with the primary effect of Frenzy where you gain 15% attack speed for each stack (150% for 10)...starting to see how scary you can be?

  2. Bash with Pulverize rune; some might want to consider Punish rune for even greater damage but I personally prefer Pulverize not just because of how cool it looks having fire blasting out of your fist but also because it changes it to an area damage. Share the pain, I'd say!

  3. Call of the Ancients with Together as One rune; of course we need these buddies for IK's damage bonus and having that rune would already reduce our damage received by a whopping 50%!

  4. Battle Rage with Maruder's Rage rune; this slot is actually quite flexible depending on how damage greedy you are. I am super greedy so I wanted this since it increases my damage by 15% with this rune, and additional 3% critical chance. Alternatively, you can go for Ignore Pain for more combat survivability or Sprint or Furious Charge for better escape and crowd control.

  5. War Cry with Impunity rune; this is another good damage reduction in my opinion giving you 20% additional armour and all resist with the rune. Then again, it is extremely flexible depending on the difficulty you are aiming for.

  6. Wrath of the Berserker with Insanity rune; another core for IK's set but with the rune we are talking about a 50% increase in damage here!!!!

Passive Skills:

  1. Ruthless; the more you hit the enemy, the more painful it becomes...sounds good!

  2. Rampage; another free 25% damage considering the amount of mobs we will be beating up.

  3. Brawler; other than GR's guardian moments and uber bosses, its almost impossible to not have this free 20% damage boost.

  4. Animosity; more fury generation = more fury quicker = more painful bashes! However, this is a flexible slot so you can consider Superstition or Tough as Nails or Bloodthirst for more survivability!

Paragon Points:

Core: +Movement Speed → +Str; always make sure your movement speed is maxed at 25%, suggest to purely use paragon points to add movement speed so you are able to use an additional slot to increase your toughness with your Immortal King's Stature.

Offense: +Crit Dmg → +Crit Chance → +Attack Spd → +Cooldown Reduction; you don't really need any form of reduction in cool down for this build so that will be the last. I chose Critical Damage over chance because I love a gamble while playing. Again, it is quite flexible here depending on your preferences.

Utility: +Life on hit → +Area Damage; well since you'd be attacking at such an ultra-speed, you might as well make use of it to steal more life along the way so you'd be beefier. Follow this up by increasing your area damage to get occasional cleave damage and you should be good! As for resource cost reduction, I'd say its as pointless as Gold Find for this build since you'd want to burn as much fury as possible.

Gameplay:

Now that we have all the basics up, lets talk about how you should play this build, and trust me, it looks brief but its really just that simple!
  1. Activate Call of the Ancients and War Cry the minute you start a rift, this will give you enough fury to immediately activate Battle Rage. The minute you see the first crowd of mobs, activate Wrath of the BerserkerALWAYS keep your Call of the Ancients and Wrath of the Berserker on no matter what happens. Your Ancients are your sponge for damage and I can't stress how important it is to have them up all the time! Berserker mode grants you increased movement speed to move to crowds of mobs quicker, and also provides some dodge chance along the way. Most importantly, this activates your IK's set damage bonus!

  2. Stack your Frenzy to 10 stacks and by this time, your fury should be full with your Ancients busy hitting away at the same time. Bash till you are out of fury, Frenzy a little again and continue bashing away. ALWAYS keep your Frenzy at 10 stacks when you're fighting, just tap Frenzy once each time when you see the timing for the stacks disappearing and the timer will reset again. Keep hitting and hitting regardless what happens, your lifesteals from the Vambraces of Sescheron and  Simplicity's Strength should be more than enough to keep you alive if you keep hitting!!!!

  3. Well, just make sure you keep repeating step 2 while keeping your Call of the Ancients and Wrath of the Berserker up throughout the entire rift and you should be good to go!
Well, that's all for my very first attempt at a Diablo 3 build write-up! Thanks for reading and please do not hesitate to drop me an email or comment should you have a better idea for this build, sharing is caring! 😎

Looking forward to the new patch, with the legendary gem Red Soul Shard after completing the pixelated Diablo I as well as the boost to the various set *looking at Wrath of the Waste*. Feel like trying a Soul Harvest Witch Doctor next though... Can't wait!
